June Plot Overview and Game Start!

Thank you, one and all, for joining! As of now, you may begin making IC posts to the Omegafriends community. You may have noticed, however, that there is already a sinister scheme afoot, orchestrated by the insane mad scientist, Dr. Dementia Devious. This is a plot that will be lurking in the background for most of the month, coming into the foreground as it ends.

The purpose of this post is to plan ahead for the plot that will be unfolding over the course of June. If you don't want to be spoiled, you'd best stop reading now!

Right Now
Dr. Devious has made a declaration that a new device will lead to the demise of Venture City, and has already been activated. For now, there is no specific action to take, but PCs can begin searching for Devious's diabolical device.

In other news, teens across the city rejoice as today marks the first day of summer vacation!

Early June
If PCs are looking for the device, it will eventually be found - there is some kind of transmitter beacon hidden somewhere in Venture City, guarded by a squad of Deviobots, including their mechanically malicious manager, Leader One. Any hero searching alone will be in big trouble if spotted, but if a group of heroes are to attack, they will be able to defeat the Deviobots and seize the transmitter.

Once the transmitter is in Omegafriends hands, scientific types (or Dr. Jefferson, if nobody else is available for it) can begin research on it in the background.

Mid-June
Research on Devious's transmitter will reveal its secrets: A message from Dr. Devious to the Omegafriends, the transmitter's true purpose, and a glimpse of a new villain yet to come.

Late June
A huge meteor will be spotted, on a collision course with Venture City. Time to come up with some heroic plans!

End of June
The meteor's secret is revealed, as it comes to a stop high in the sky above Venture City: It's not actually a meteor at all! The "meteor" opens up, and what's inside is revealed as the true threat. The battle to save Venture City begins!

Use this post as a plotting hub. Villains, you are free to have your own plans going on during all this (and to use this post as a place to plan them out), but try to keep any major battles away from the end of the month!

Darkwing is definitely going to try and snoop this out on his own, but he is definitely not going to do well against those Deviobots if they find him. He'll probably start by looking at the top of the highest building in Venture City, by way of deductive reasoning and experience with "secret devices have been actived" plans.

Anyone care to run into him and help bail his tailfeathers out if he's found? Or to just run into him on a search of their own?

Well Tails will be looking into this for sure. He can run into him on a rooftop since he might decide an aerial view is the best way to spot anything.

That sounds good! Do you have him anywhere now, or should I make an open post at some point this week? :)
usedrapidspin: (Oh really?)

I don't, so if you could?

OK! After seeing that commercial Robotnik's mun put up, I was thinking of having him investigate that building to try and kill two birds with one stone... I'm waiting for them to OK it as a post setting. I'll let you know when it's up!

I'd be down for this.

/squeeflail.

I have an open post for him, if you'd care to jump in? Or, if that doesn't quite work, we can have it go down elsewhere. I am totally up for either.

Velasquez is going to be convinced, by thinking over the stories she enjoys, that the transmitter would be around the High School. Why? Because with summer vacation, who would bother going around to school. It's a cliche that people dislike it!

So she will be digging around the school, like a fox would. As a fox. Using her summoned other foxes to dig up all the flowers.

It's not like she dislikes the flowers there or anything.

Both of mine (Yuri and Peter) are definitely going to be looking around for this, but Peter has this uncanny knack for being able to think like a super villain. So he's going to be thinking underground is the place to go - somewhere it could be hidden and yet easily overlooked by just about everyone.

So expect Spidey to go trotting around subways and sewer tunnels a fair bit.

Is going to the Dr. Directly and threatening the answer out of her a valid option? The Kid has always relied on the City Crest to detect things, but it doesn't work in venture city.

Typical supervillain stuff. Makes sense!

Sherri is going to search the hospital for the transmitter, using the logic that it would be unlikely to be disturbed there since no one in their right mind would ever attack the hospital.

... And also the logic that it is a place he can comb in his mundane disguise, while being relatively inconspicuous.

He would probably be quite overtaken by the bots if he found it on his own, though, and... might need rescuing? And, despite being sciencey, unless the transmitter uses some kind of organic components, he probably wouldn't be able to get very far with it. (Though I might totally make a post where he opens it up and then goes, "It, um, has some wires. It probably does a thing.")

Shinmyoumaru first needs to know a little more about Dr. Devious. However, if anybody wants her to look in places nobody else COULD look, small or large, she's available for that. And we mean REALLY small. She'd probably go looking in major important places first, because, like, that's what you do when you're trying to undermine society, right?

Silverwing does want to see the new blood in action, so she's going to hang back for the first couple of days.

Should that not come up well, she'll probably start looking for it near the end of the first week of June, probably enlisting Sonicheart and a couple of tech-oriented Omegafriends Recruits to assist her.

Silver has ways of cheating at large-scale scavenger hunts like this, which I'm working on a post about right now. They'll mostly be searching outdoors, but can get to a lot of places humans can't or wouldn't normally go--rooftops, random dumpsters, condemned buildings, that kind of thing.
