June Plot Overview and Game Start!

Thank you, one and all, for joining! As of now, you may begin making IC posts to the Omegafriends community. You may have noticed, however, that there is already a sinister scheme afoot, orchestrated by the insane mad scientist, Dr. Dementia Devious. This is a plot that will be lurking in the background for most of the month, coming into the foreground as it ends.

The purpose of this post is to plan ahead for the plot that will be unfolding over the course of June. If you don't want to be spoiled, you'd best stop reading now!

Right Now
Dr. Devious has made a declaration that a new device will lead to the demise of Venture City, and has already been activated. For now, there is no specific action to take, but PCs can begin searching for Devious's diabolical device.

In other news, teens across the city rejoice as today marks the first day of summer vacation!

Early June
If PCs are looking for the device, it will eventually be found - there is some kind of transmitter beacon hidden somewhere in Venture City, guarded by a squad of Deviobots, including their mechanically malicious manager, Leader One. Any hero searching alone will be in big trouble if spotted, but if a group of heroes are to attack, they will be able to defeat the Deviobots and seize the transmitter.

Once the transmitter is in Omegafriends hands, scientific types (or Dr. Jefferson, if nobody else is available for it) can begin research on it in the background.

Mid-June
Research on Devious's transmitter will reveal its secrets: A message from Dr. Devious to the Omegafriends, the transmitter's true purpose, and a glimpse of a new villain yet to come.

Late June
A huge meteor will be spotted, on a collision course with Venture City. Time to come up with some heroic plans!

End of June
The meteor's secret is revealed, as it comes to a stop high in the sky above Venture City: It's not actually a meteor at all! The "meteor" opens up, and what's inside is revealed as the true threat. The battle to save Venture City begins!

Use this post as a plotting hub. Villains, you are free to have your own plans going on during all this (and to use this post as a place to plan them out), but try to keep any major battles away from the end of the month!

Darkwing is definitely going to try and snoop this out on his own, but he is definitely not going to do well against those Deviobots if they find him. He'll probably start by looking at the top of the highest building in Venture City, by way of deductive reasoning and experience with "secret devices have been actived" plans.

Anyone care to run into him and help bail his tailfeathers out if he's found? Or to just run into him on a search of their own?

Well Tails will be looking into this for sure. He can run into him on a rooftop since he might decide an aerial view is the best way to spot anything.

That sounds good! Do you have him anywhere now, or should I make an open post at some point this week? :)
usedrapidspin: (Oh really?)

[personal profile] usedrapidspin 2014-06-01 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't, so if you could?

OK! After seeing that commercial Robotnik's mun put up, I was thinking of having him investigate that building to try and kill two birds with one stone... I'm waiting for them to OK it as a post setting. I'll let you know when it's up!

/squeeflail.

I have an open post for him, if you'd care to jump in? Or, if that doesn't quite work, we can have it go down elsewhere. I am totally up for either.

Velasquez is going to be convinced, by thinking over the stories she enjoys, that the transmitter would be around the High School. Why? Because with summer vacation, who would bother going around to school. It's a cliche that people dislike it!

So she will be digging around the school, like a fox would. As a fox. Using her summoned other foxes to dig up all the flowers.

It's not like she dislikes the flowers there or anything.
webswings: (Peter - 005)

[personal profile] webswings 2014-05-31 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Both of mine (Yuri and Peter) are definitely going to be looking around for this, but Peter has this uncanny knack for being able to think like a super villain. So he's going to be thinking underground is the place to go - somewhere it could be hidden and yet easily overlooked by just about everyone.

So expect Spidey to go trotting around subways and sewer tunnels a fair bit.

Re: TRANSMITTER PLANS

[personal profile] sebastiancafe 2014-05-31 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Is going to the Dr. Directly and threatening the answer out of her a valid option? The Kid has always relied on the City Crest to detect things, but it doesn't work in venture city.

Typical supervillain stuff. Makes sense!

Sherri is going to search the hospital for the transmitter, using the logic that it would be unlikely to be disturbed there since no one in their right mind would ever attack the hospital.

... And also the logic that it is a place he can comb in his mundane disguise, while being relatively inconspicuous.

He would probably be quite overtaken by the bots if he found it on his own, though, and... might need rescuing? And, despite being sciencey, unless the transmitter uses some kind of organic components, he probably wouldn't be able to get very far with it. (Though I might totally make a post where he opens it up and then goes, "It, um, has some wires. It probably does a thing.")

Shinmyoumaru first needs to know a little more about Dr. Devious. However, if anybody wants her to look in places nobody else COULD look, small or large, she's available for that. And we mean REALLY small. She'd probably go looking in major important places first, because, like, that's what you do when you're trying to undermine society, right?

Re: TRANSMITTER PLANS

[personal profile] scrapperzen 2014-06-03 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Silverwing does want to see the new blood in action, so she's going to hang back for the first couple of days.

Should that not come up well, she'll probably start looking for it near the end of the first week of June, probably enlisting Sonicheart and a couple of tech-oriented Omegafriends Recruits to assist her.

[personal profile] crashes_rockets 2014-06-05 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Silver has ways of cheating at large-scale scavenger hunts like this, which I'm working on a post about right now. They'll mostly be searching outdoors, but can get to a lot of places humans can't or wouldn't normally go--rooftops, random dumpsters, condemned buildings, that kind of thing.

Re: BATTLE PLANS

[personal profile] number1_kerbal 2014-05-31 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
JEB IS SO EXCITED.

By combining the Mark 1-2 Capsule and a 'Hitchhiker Container' Jeb can loft maybe 7 heroes aloft to the Meteor. Each extra Hitchiker Container will hold 4 more people, but the dead weight makes more than one per rocket impractical-and the container can't survive re-entry. Users may need to use a personal reentry device.
terrorwhatflaps: (they have cake!)

[personal profile] terrorwhatflaps 2014-05-31 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
But does the Hitchhiker Container have TOWELS?

Let me check the IVA view...
number1_kerbal: (Default)

[personal profile] number1_kerbal 2014-05-31 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The Hitchhiker Container has designated compartments for the following items
-Food.
-Not Food.
-Refuse
-Trash
-Rubbish
-Junk
-Board Games
-Toothbrushes
-Laundry

It also has four acceleration couches, and non-functional controls for each seat so you can feel important while you sit around as cargo.
-Science
-More Science
getoutofmylab: (beakers)

[personal profile] getoutofmylab 2014-05-31 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It is very important to make sure that the switch is set to "More Science" at all times.
number1_kerbal: (Suit-helmet down)

[personal profile] number1_kerbal 2014-05-31 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It's more a wall-mounted cabinet. But it could contain literally anything. Microscopes? Ampules? Soil sample collection scoops? Maybe even a tiny nuclear particle accelerator or a guide-book to rocks! We've got so much science we had to add an extra compartment to hold it all in!
getoutofmylab: (microscope)

[personal profile] getoutofmylab 2014-05-31 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That can be where Sherri sits, then. He is a science. He can collect science on the science. Science, science science.
number1_kerbal: (Jetpack Expert)

[personal profile] number1_kerbal 2014-05-31 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Just don't open the compartment in flight. You'll let all the science out!

I'm thinking Clark will be joining in the meteor fight, but he's probably gonna fly up. Might even by able to guid the rocket back in if it hasn't fallen back down to earth by the time they finish.
alilyinthemoonslight: (Default)

[personal profile] alilyinthemoonslight 2014-05-31 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the Heartcatch girls can all fly. So that's a thing to consider, yes? At the very least, they're ones who would have little effort in getting there under their own power.

I'm all for throwing Tsubomi into that. o/
omnitrixter: ([Alien] Jetray)

[personal profile] omnitrixter 2014-05-31 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Going to assume the Omnitrix is going to be kind and give Ben access to Jetray for the first time for this battle. He can carry one person if need be via holding that person in his feet claws or someone can jump on his back as he zips by.

[personal profile] thedarkheir 2014-06-02 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Soma can easily help on either end, though looks like the Meteor's well covered so he'll be helping out in the city. He's got some minor magic including a barrier, ability to become a bat, and a stone that basically gives him the ability to drop night-time on enemies and ambush them.
scrapperzen: (Default)

[personal profile] scrapperzen 2014-06-03 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
And here, Silverwing will definitely be assisting at keeping peace in the city. Plenty of heroes will be booking it for the big bad, so she knows that the city's going to be ripe with not just Dr. Devious's other plans, but other criminals thinking that the heroes are away so it's time to play.

[personal profile] big_blue_boyscout 2014-06-05 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking Superman is going up to meet the meteor, and given that he's Superman he'll be getting there under his own power.

Oops I just PM'd this question to Prof cuz I didn't see this old post so hopefully someone still sees this =u=a

Regarding the dinosaurs invasion ...thing, since I obviously joined waaaay after signups for this, but it's extremely relevant to my character (dueling alien invaders...), is there any way I can participate still/interact with the alien npc's?
widerthanthesea: (Can I keep it please please please)

Setting aside the major plot, HEY HEARTCATCH TEAM: Shall we do a monster fight soon? Get one of Skeletor's underlings, get tossed around by a killer vending machine or something, shout about the theme of the week's episode, then throw out some super attacks.

Who's with me?
alilyinthemoonslight: (Default)

[personal profile] alilyinthemoonslight 2014-05-31 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, please.

And work on Yuri actually accepting Erika as the newbie Cure. That's a thing, too. Probably can work on both of those at once.
sunbloom: ([+T] I'm not sure...)

[personal profile] sunbloom 2014-06-01 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
I heard Precure going on day-saving adventures. I have but one almost-Cure to offer; how contrived an excuse do we want for her to happen upon the activity?
alilyinthemoonslight: (Default)

[personal profile] alilyinthemoonslight 2014-06-01 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think we need too contrived an excuse, really!

Perhaps Itsuki is curious to meet some of the students she'll be serving in the next school year as President, or the new transfer with Tsubomi. And for some reason there's a High Schooler hanging out with them.

Or a monster of some sort plops down around the dojo.

Or just in front of her.

Or many other options one could come up with but I'm probably too tired to grasp right now.
blossominghero: (Default)

[personal profile] blossominghero 2014-06-01 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
All of these sound like good ideas. Do we want it to start with monster ploppage or do we want a brief moment of respite before the whole mess?
